Welcome to Week Two of The Gathered Sweater!
This week is an exciting one—we'll separate the body and sleeves and then continue knitting the body, letting our colours and textures evolve as we go.
As always, there are no rules when it comes to your yarn combinations. Keep changing colours whenever it feels right, and enjoy watching your Gathered Sweater become completely your own.
Let's get knitting!

Week Two Pattern Instructions
Please check the Raglan table below first because the original table did not match exactly to the amount of raglan increases which has now been corrected!

K2 to the BOR marker.
You now have 176 (180, 184, 188) body sts.
Body
Continue knitting in the round, changing colours as you go, until the body measures approximately 2 cm less than the finished pattern length, or 2 cm less than your desired finished length.
Try your sweater on as you go to check both the length and fit before beginning the hem.
Remember, your yarn changes don't need to follow a particular sequence. Continue mixing colours and textures in whatever way feels right for your sweater.
Optional Hem Shaping
If you would like the body to come in slightly at the hem, decrease 8–10 sts evenly around the next round by working K2tog at evenly spaced intervals.
If you prefer the body to remain relaxed and straight, simply continue without decreasing.
Hem
Change to 6 mm, 80 cm circular needles.
Knit 6 rounds.
Cast off loosely.
That's a Wrap for Week Two
And just like that, the body of your Gathered Sweater is complete!
I hope you've enjoyed watching your colours and textures come together. By now, your sweater will really have developed its own personality—and hopefully you've discovered a few unexpected yarn combinations along the way.
I've absolutely loved seeing your Gathered Sweater posts and progress photos popping up. It's so exciting to see how differently everyone's sweaters are developing, and the beautiful combinations you're creating from your gathered yarns.
I'm sharing a few of your progress photos at the bottom of this post, along with some more inspiration from our lovely test knitters.
Please keep them coming! Share your progress in our Skool community, leave a comment below, or show us what you've created on social media and tag @unravelledknitters.
Next week we'll finish our Gathered Sweaters by returning to the sleeves and adding those final touches.
Happy knitting!
