The Essential Blanket is one of those projects you can settle into. Knitted entirely in simple garter stitch, there’s no complicated pattern to keep track of — just the gentle rhythm of knitting, row after row.

Worked in our soft and lofty Uno alpaca and merino, the simplicity of the stitch lets the beautiful yarn do the work. It’s an ideal first blanket, a lovely project if you’re returning to knitting, or simply a relaxing knit when you want something uncomplicated on your needles.

There’s something especially satisfying about watching a blanket grow beneath your hands — beginning with that first row and slowly becoming something warm, beautiful and entirely made by you.
