For centuries Japan has been a leader of innovation in the knitting world. We created this series to introduce our audience to some of Japan's amazing stitch work and pay homage to the influence their culture has had on knitting.

This delightful Shōga pattern creates a beautiful baby blanket and is wonderfully therapeutic to knit, with every alternate row worked in simple knit or purl stitches.

**Our 2026 production of Oi yarn is well underway so we are offering this kit as a pre-order with expected dispatch commencing 26 October.

As with all international freight, unexpected delays can occasionally occur, so this dispatch date may change. We’ll keep you updated as the yarn completes production and begins its journey to Melbourne.**

    Shoga blanket

    I am finding this pattern an easy knit. It looks so intricate but in reality is easy and very enjoyable. It's like a good book, I find it hard to put down .

    Shoga blanket

    I'm currently knitting the cot size blanket. I absolutely love the touch yarn; it is so soft. I was very nervous about knitting this pattern as it looked well beyond my level of knitting. A couple of You Tube videos later and I quickly found out it is a very easy repeat pattern. It just looks complicated. Love it!
