A timeless cardigan knit kit in luxurious KidSilk Haze

The Novice Cardigan will definitely add some wow factor to your array of hand-knits. The cardigan is knitted back and forth on circular needles and then the sleeves are knitted in the round so it's a great project if you have always knitted on straight needles but would like to start using circular needles. Two strands of yarn are knitted together throughout.

Most of the cardigan is knitted back and forth in stockinette stitch like on straight needles and then the sleeves are knitted in a tube. No sewing up! 

The KidSilk Haze yarn creates a beautiful light, lofty layer that feels amazing on the needles and next to your skin.

The pattern is from renown Danish designer Mette from PetiteKnit. It is worked from the top down. This means that you begin by working the ribbed neck edge, then you work the yoke, then the body and finally the sleeves. 

Please note: Bridie is modelling the Haze Lily (pink water colour) yarn option.

Sizing Info

The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL are designed to fit an approximate bust circumference of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 cm. The Novice Cardigan – Mohair Edition is designed to have approx. 10 cm [4 inches] of positive ease, meaning it is designed to be approx. 10 cm [4 inches] larger in circumference than your body.
This means that if you, for example, measure 90 cm around your bust or widest upper body part (measure yourself around your bust, or your widest point, using a measuring tape), you should knit a size S which has a circumference of 100 cm. This will give you 10 cm of positive ease.

Great fun to knit

The last time I knitted with circular needles was over 25 years ago, so it was with some trepidation that I started. Have loved this cardigan so much that I have another one ready to go when the weather cools down! Helpful pattern, wool is superb and it may not be perfect but I am really proud of the end result.

Beautiful yarn and clear to follow pattern.

I’m loving this project, the pattern is super easy to follow and the yarn knits up with a subtle striped watercolour effect. It was great to get everything I needed in the Kit like buttons, wool needle and tag. And great to be able to get a kit without knitting needles because I am one of those knitters that always have to up a size to get perfect gauge.
